For many years works as Professor of Clinical Avian Medicine in University of Georgia. He obtained his Master degree in Avian Medicine and PhD degree in Medical Microbiology from University of Georgia, USA. Postdoctoral Fellow Molecular Virology also in University of Georgia. Member of American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV).
Author or coauthor of book chapters in avian retroviruses and immunosuppressive viruses in 3 reference books. Over 35 publications in peer reviewed (refereed) journals and more that 250 conferences in 5 continents.

Avian pathologist of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System of the State of North Carolina in USA. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Pathobiology and Public Health, College of Veterinary medicine, North Carolina State University, USA. He obtained his MS and PhD degrees in veterinary pathology from Iowa State University, USA. He is also board certified in poultry medicine by the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV). Dr. Aziz has a special interest in post-mortem examination of birds and diagnostic gross pathology and histopathology of avian diseases. He is highly regarded internationally for his expertise in poultry pathology and diagnosis of poultry diseases. He has over 30-year experience in poultry health, diagnostic poultry pathology, and clinical poultry medicine. Dr. Aziz is the coauthor of the recently published book Gross Pathology of Poultry Diseases Text and Atlas, and he is a coauthor of the fourth edition and the associate editor of the third edition of the book Avian Histopathology. He is also a contributor of chapters in the 13 th and 14 th edition of Diseases of Poultry, 11 th edition of Merck Veterinary manual, and Manual of Poultry Diseases. He has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and poultry trade magazines. He was the presenter of the workshops on the postmortem examination of poultry and diagnostic gross pathology of poultry diseases at the World Veterinary Poultry Association Congress in Cape Town in 2015 and Edinburgh in 2017.

Começou por trabalhar com bovinos de leite, nas zonas Centro e Entre-Douro-e-Minho. Completou depois Mestrado em Segurança Alimentar (Universidade Católica, 2007) e Doutoramento, com bolsa Fulbright, nos Estados Unidos, em Ciências Biomédicas Comparativas (2011). Recentemente, concluiu a especialidade do Colégio Europeu de Saúde Publica Medico-Veterinária.
Trabalhou como consultor na Suíça entre 2012 e 2017 (SAFOSO AG), e desde Outubro de 2017, faz parte da equipa da Organização Mundial de Saúde Animal (OIE, Paris) que se dedica à temática da Resistência a antibióticos, em particular, à colaboração com outras organizações internacionais (OMS, FAO, Codex).
Engenheiro Técnico Agrícola de Explorações Agro-pecuárias formado na Universidade de Valladolid.
Desde 2012 que faz assessorial e serviço técnico em cria-recria e fase de postura em Portugal e Espanha na empresa IBertec S.A. Foi coordenador de projectos de montagem de Granjas e centros de incubação da Valo Biomedia México em Guadalajara y Ocoyoacac. Teve cargo de responsável de produção de Recria e Postura na Hibramer S.A.
